What is the buying process?
You bring in your items in a bin, box, basket, or reusable shopping bag. Our presorter will look through your items and pull out what we would like to purchase. They will pass those items to our buyer, who will appraise them using our computerized appraisal system.
We will send you a text when that process is complete. We ask that you return to the store by the end of the next business day to accept your offer of cash or store credit, and to pick up your remaining items.
How should I bring in my items?
Apparel should be clean and laid out flat (unfolded) in a bin, box, basket or reusable shopping bag. Plastic or paper bags, like trash bags, are not accepted.
⚠️ Important:
We do not purchase items with insects, bad odors (including all types of smoke), or pet hair. If these issues are found, we will respectfully pass on ALL items.
Please ensure toys and equipment are clean and in working condition, including batteries.
Baby equipment should be manufactured within the past five years and not under recall.
How much can I bring at one time?
You may bring in two items at a time. This could be:
- Two 17 gallon bins
- 1 bin and a large toy or piece of equipment
- Two large items
Note: If your bin is over 17 gallons, it will count as two items.
Do I have to bring my items in a container?
Yes. We do not provide bins or boxes. Your items must be in a bin, box, basket, or reusable shopping bag.
Plastic or paper bags, like trash bags, are not accepted.
Can I donate the items you aren't buying?
We can donate clothing and shoes. If you choose to donate at the time of drop off, we will donate your items as we sort them. You will not be able to get them back. You can also decide to donate at the end of the process.
We cannot donate toys and equipment at this time.
How long will my buy take to complete?
We try to have buys done by the next business day. However, we cannot guarantee a time for completion.
I've received a text, but I can't make it in by the next business day. What should I do?
Give us a call at 919-322-2445, and let us know when you can make it in.
If you are donating your items, we can give you store credit, or a digital payout, and you will not need to return to the store.
Do I have to stay in the store?
At the moment, we are not doing Wait In Store buys. We are only allowing people to drop off their items. This is a temporary measure to ensure timely service for all of our customers.
Do I need an appointment?
You do not need an appointment. When you drop off your items, we are not able to guarantee a time for the appraisal to be completed.
We will send you a text to notify you that your appraisal is ready, and you have until the end of the next business day to pick up your cash or store credit and remaining items.
How do you determine my offer?
Our buyer uses a computer program that helps determine our pricing. Generally, we price items at half of their original retail price. Your payout is generally 20-30% of our price, depending on condition and brand. For larger items, the payout is closer to 40%.
💡 Example:
If you have an item that originally sold for $20, we will sell it for around $10, and your payout will be between $2 and $3.

Can you send me a digital payout?
Yes, we can! Your digital payout will be the same amount as cash.
We will send you a link that will let you choose a variety of digital payout options, including virtual gift cards, Venmo and Paypal.
